UBB forums...why so bad?

i was just looking around on this site, and saw a UBB vs. IKONBOARD thing, why is UBB so frowned upon, is it because its so limited or because there are holes in code or whatever?

Try GForum, or if you like PHP more...then YaPBB is very good IMO.

The latest release is not bad. It's *decent* software, but I consider GForum to be more robust and flexible.

I think at the very top you have GForum and VBulletin, then a couple of pegs down are UBB and Ikonboard.

I found Ikonboard quite nice...may have been cos I knew Matt, the person who started developement on it...before the Jarvis Network too it over, and commercialised the whole thing Unsure

this site uses UBB, and i dont find anything wrong with it...now is UBB bad because it doesnt let you do much? if so, this site does all i like...if so is it worth it? im not thinking of buying it soon, just wondering

Its not so much the users side of the script....but more server load, and customization problems. GForum has a far superior/faster template system Smile
