I'm trying to set up a public proxy through my dial-up connection, but when I set one up, whether on Explorer or Netscape, all requests gets timed out. And I can't not get anything anymore.

Does anyone would know what's wrong here? Could it be because of my ISP

Hi Richy,

Have you set Tools->Options->Connections->Lan Settings->Proxy server on IE manually?

This means that others computers on your LAN, not the computer has the proxy.

Thank for your post Dat,

I tryied what you proposed and the speed did not get affected this time but how could I be sure that my requests or paquets are actually going through the proxy.

Because under the LAN Setting option it says in brackets ( this settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections ) and I'm using dial-up.
