Autoresponder Script?
Does anyone know of a good Autoresponder script? I've
checked CGI-Resource Index but the reviews are mixed. There
does not seem to be a clear winner so I was wondering what
people here think.

I want to send muliple emails to people who opt-in. Something like "Sign up for 5 tips for blah, blah, delivered directly to your inbox."

So:

1) Automatic follow-up emails after a set number of days

2) Different sets of responses sent depending on the different forms used

3) Would NOT need to send html but would be nice if it could (I could get by with straight text)

4) Admin functions accessible from browser window

5) Other cool stuff that I am too dumb to even know I need yet.

... but it looks like they are shut down at the moment. From previous work I did on this, it should support what you need.

Have you checked out Gossamer AutoRespond? There is a forum for this product that you can check out questions and comments. Also, it is linked in the Gossamer Products section.

Here's the problem. I don't have SQL available from my hosting service (Dellhost.com)

I know I could migrate to a host that supports SQL but inertia, laziness and lack of time make me want to avoid that.

I have several CGI scripts running (including Links 2.0) So PERL scripts are not a problem.

So, is there a way to run Gossamer Autoresponder without MySQL?

If not is there any script that doesn't need SQL?

If not, does anyone know of a good hosted Autoresponder service?

Well, since I posted I have started using 1Shoppingcart.com

They have a good integrated package including Autoresponders.

I'd recommend them if you can't get the Gossamer script.
