How does that work with international numbers? Our directory is for member who are all over the world so a number in the US and Canada would be listed at xxx-xxx-xxxx, but a number somewhere else, they often use a different format. Will what you just explained make it hard for them to enter their number?
Obviously, I only want numbers used in the phone number field, but I don't want to be too picky about the format so as to avoid difficulty for our members.
