A friend and I theorized about this about a year ago.
Just run an apple script to check your IP and then if it changes to reference it back to your machine. Can problably even have it check for the system event that your modem connection just changed on you.
OH ... that's right linux and M$ don't use that.
Hmmm how about a cron tab and script to do the same thing.
hmmm ... definitely a dns org like thos suggested would be useful.

hmmm ... my IP changes about 1 once a month. there must be a way to check if an IP is available and choose that for you again.
