Is the following possible (the newbie asks)?

Use one template that displays a thread in its "normal" mode (like you're seeing it here) and another that shows it barebones, i.e., with no tables, no formatting, no nothing.

The reason is that we post news articles and columns in static HTML pages, and I'd like to be able to use SSIs at the bottom to list a thread from the forum on that article or column, but at the same time let somebody browse through the forums.
