I don't quite understand the bit about using the description box for alternative categories. If yo8uo have installed the altcategory mod in links and are importing/upgrading to sql, there are various posts here and in the discussions forum about this.

Alternativly, if you are using Links SQL anyway, why didnt you use the altertnative category feature?
