Hi All!

I was forced to move servers and am having a problem...maybe this has happened to someone else already?

When the site was moved over - meaning everything, the database names weren't synced. I need to find the config file to change the database info - I'm currently unable to login to the Links admin area and have to do this through the server's backroom file manager or FTP. So, what I'm looking for is the config file to change the db info and hoping this will allow entry into the admin, as I am currently unable to login with the existing password.

Note: I did find the install file and even gave that a try, but no luck - {maybe for the best, not one of my better judgement calls }

Okay, I found the database.def file, it's been so long since I had to mess with any of this. In saying that I rarely have to And have made the corrections.

But still can't login to the admin....

You probably need to edit the /admin/.htaccess file, as this will still have your old server path in it, and thus won't be able to validate your login details. Normally, you can get away with a local path, i.e just .htaccess, and not /full/path/to/admin/.htaccess

Excellent! That worked but now not able to read the template file. This is where it's looking.

GT:Template:Inheritance [my old path] then [new path]admin/GT/config.pm

But again not sure where to edit.

Wanna send over FTP/SSH access, and I'll take a look for you? Sounds like a "grep" would serve you better, as it does all the replacements in one go <G>
