Yahoo style related categories with out number of links listed ?

Yahoo style related categories with out number of links listed ?
I am trying to have Yahoo style related categories with out the number of links listed next to it.

Example: Category@

I know this is done through the subcategory.html

If I delete the <%Number_of_Links%> from there then it gets deleted for all my categories also.

Is there a way around this ?

All help is appreciated
