Trying to understand the sessions Management in comm.

Would it not be that community.cgi works like a content wrapper for GT applications. This would mean all the dynamic content could be displayed in the community and has a central authentication system.

Otherwise, I have problems in understanding how will it authenticate centrally for different domains. This does not work on my server. It uses the same users table but not able to redirect to that particular application after authentication.

If you are on different domains (not subdomains like forums.foo.com and links.foo.com), then you will need to use the remote plugins. These will work in a way very similiar to MS Passport. It will bounce you from Community to the application for authentication.
