raq3 new install -forbidden login
Hi,

I dl the fileman pkg and it is installed according to the installed sw gui.

My understanding is that a siteadmin can manage their own files but when
I try www.myurl.com/fileman/ I get a login box but cannot login with the siteadmin
or the master admin password.

I get a forbidden error (no number) You do not have permission to access this resource.

I have looked searched and looked through the forum. Any thoughts?

More Info, I have looked in my httpd error log and have this:

[Wed Mar 27 07:03:25 2002] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] Directory index forbidden by rule: /home/gossamer/fileman/cgi-bin/

This is what my access log has.

myurl.com xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [27/Mar/2002:07:03:16 -0600] "GET /fileman/ HTTP/1.1" 200 853 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)"
myurl.com xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - admin [27/Mar/2002:07:03:25 -0600] "GET /fileman/ HTTP/1.1" 200 669 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)"
myurl.com xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - - [27/Mar/2002:07:03:25 -0600] "GET /.cobalt/images/lock_warning.gif HTTP/1.1" 302 258 "http://myurl.com/fileman/" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)"

Did a chmod not get written or something?

Hope this helps someone see what my problem might be.
Thanks,
Janna

Hi janna,

Try using the full URL to the fileman program: www.myurl.com/fileman/fileman.cgi

The error was saying that there is no index file in that directory and it will not display you the contents of the directory.

Regards,
Charlie
