strange error
Hi,

My error :
can't find /db_utils.pl at /home/virtual/site195/fst/var/www/perl/links/admin/nph-build.cgi line 33.

I crawled this forum regarding everything to "can't find db.pl" but couldn't find anything that works.
Anyway, I installed a program called env.pl, this pl can show me the paths on my server and this is what
is says ;

SITE_CGIROOT = /home/virtual/site195/fst/var/www/cgi-bin
SITE_HTMLROOT = /home/virtual/site195/fst/var/www/html
SITE_PERL = /home/virtual/site195/fst/var/www/perl
SITE_ROOT = /home/virtual/site195/fst

My links.cfg has this ;
$db_script_path = "/home/virtual/site195/fst/var/www/perl/links/admin";

What am I doing wrong..??

And...
What can be the problem if all jumps go the the same url?
Example , I click a site and Iam jumping to www.site.com , then I click another site in the index
and although it's using a different i.d it's going to the first site (www.site.com) and that goed with all the
links , the first is going ok, but the next always go to the same url as the first.

try this:

$db_script_path = '/home/virtual/site195/fst/var/www/cgi-bin/links/admin'

Hopefully that will fix the other problem, too. If not, let us know!

Hi,

Thanks for your reply,
Do you mean that I should install it into my cgi-bin instead of my perl dir?
Why..? All my cgi's are in my perl dir and are working fine, except for Links 2.0....that is.
Can you explain?

thanks

Well, web hosts are set up in many different ways, so it's hard to tell...

Normally it would go into the cgi-bin, and is better in a sub-directory there, like .../cgi-bin/links/

Try it out and see...

hmmmm....

you indicated that your links.cfg has the following

$db_script_path = '/home/virtual/site195/fst/var/www/cgi-bin/links/admin'

which means that your links cgi files like nph-build.cgi, dbutils.pl, etc must be located there

so you'll get an error if "All my cgi's are in my perl dir"
