moving links to new server

moving links to new server
Hi, I'd like to learn the procedure for moving Links 2 to a new web server. Beyond editing links.cfg and setting file permissions could someone outline it for me? I believe that some data must be uploaded to the new server as binary files. Is that a correct assumption?

Thanks, Ryan

No...All the files need to be uploaded in ASCII mode. The only files that need to be uploaded in binary mode are the following:

1) Graphic files (*.gif, *.jpg)
2) MS Office Files (*.ppt, *.xcl, *.doc)
3) Audio Files (e.g.,mp3 tracks)

CGI, DB, PL, and LOG files need to be transferred in ASCII mode.

You have everything else correct. Just changes the paths and file names in the config file and set the permissions appropriately on all your files.

I believe I did everything as I was supposed to, but still an error. Darn! Take a look at: http://216.167.48.74/cgi-bin/links/admin/admin.cgi

Error including libraries...
Make sure they exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly.

I double checked all of this. Any reasons as to why it's still not working?

Thanks a ton, Ryan

You defined your paths wrong.

I got my admin.cgi working again, and moved everything from the "data" directory on my old server to the new one. I can add sites, modify, etc, but when I go to a build all Links gives me this. What am I doing wrong now?
