I have a strange problem, I have a database with 1500 links, when I built it from telnet, it creates a directory with 1500 links, but if I built the database from the web many links are deleted, some times 1000 some others 800 are deleted so I have to get de links.db from tha backup



Any Idea?

Deleted? Or not showing up in the category pages? Sounds to me like one or more of the following problems:

1) CGI Timeout problem with your server.
2) Permission problem with your links.db file.
3) Too much data in your links.db file (how large in terms of MG or KB is the file?)

The links are deleted. from 1500 to quile less, like 800 or less,

Sorry for being so obtuse...I guess you didn't deduce what you should look at from my reply.

Let's try it again...

1) Check the permission of your links.db file (should be read/write - rw-rw-rw-).

2) Check the permissions of your "category" folders, should be 766 or 777.

3) Check your hosting company's CGI timeout rate (contact them and ask).

4) Again check the SIZE (again, like in KB or MG) of your links.db file - if it's larger than 1.0 MG, then that could be one problem.
