Ok, I have tried uploading fresh copies of category.def, links.def, links.db, category.db and also site_html_templates.pl.

However, for some reason (unknown to me) it is using a number for the title of the category.

For example, if I enter the ID number a 7 and then a title of 'Testing' it will use the number for the value of it (i.e it will create a folder and category called '0007').

Anyone got any more ideas on it?"

Mmmm you could add a reply to your original thread instead of starting another.

....you aren't meant to touch the ID number it is automatic. Set linksid.txt to 0 and leave it to increment automatically in the admin panel.

With the help of Andy, I've tried everuthing... may I think that the problem is in the fresk copy ok Links?

In your installation, what is the value in links.cfg of the

# Field number of category in category.db
$db_main_category = ?
