add.cgi jump.cgi modify.cgi rate.cgi......HELP

Ive changed it anyway.

I believe that there are plenty of threads in the forum that provide the answer.

But anyway.........

If your cgi scripts are giving errors then double check the following:

1) Path to Perl
2) Path to links.cfg within the cgi scripts (FULL PATH)
3) Uploaded in ascii not binary
4) Chmodded to 755
5) Didn't accidentally delete something or add something you shouldn't have within the script like an extra " or ' or something.

After you checked all those thing 3 times, if you still get an error reupload the cgi and try again.

After all that contact an installer or your host.

Shouldn't your #3 be Uploaded in ASCII?

Well if you were an installer you would know how to fix this porblem and you would know that the way you "fixed" the problem is incorrect!

There is absolutely no need to create a second cgi-bin in the pages directory and Alex doesn't need to add this to the readme becuase it is incorrect.

The only reason it wasn't working was because you, the user, had configured it incorrectly!

In Reply To:
User cgi-bin should be taken out of the links.cfg.
These bugs need fixed before the program is ready to be sold.
The readme text should be updated to allow the end-user to know that they may have to create another cgi-bin at the very least.
Are you for real?

These aren't bugs.
User cg-bin shouldn't be taken out of links.cfg
Readme shouldn't be updated.
Users don't have to create a second cgi-bin

I think version udates should be written right away.
Why?...because you can't figure out how to get it to work?

Alright, since you do not believe Paul even though he has been around here for a long time, He is right, You Do NOT need to create a new cgi-bin to make the script work, This is not a bug, no need to re write the readme or bring out newer versions just for this...

An installer should be able to know how to install the script.

Why do you keep repeating what Paul has written?

I left detailed information for a fix for others and was dogged by the above, so I pulled my help.
