When I go to www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/link/modify.cgi I get the error, Unknown Tag: ID.

Have you hacked modify.cgi to use other fields to check before allowing users to modify their records?

If so, double check the codes you've implemented, and if this is about a customization or modification you've made to the modify script, then you SHOULD post questions LIKE this in the Links 2.0 Customization Forum, NOT in this forum!

Nope...not touched or modified modify.cgi.

This is an installation query...hence posted in the installation forum.
