And you should simply add yourself as an Installer in the Resource Center versus advertising your services in the Forums.

Well actually I have added my services to the Installers area, but people who are new to links or to the forum, do not always look there, so I thought I'd help them by placing the post in the actual forum.

I see what you're saying, but the problem is once one installer starts posting advertisments here then what's to stop others doing the same. Then the forum would turn into an advertisment center where people all just advertise their services which is not what's it's here for.

Most of the people posting in the forum are looking for advice, solutions but are NOT looking for paid help!

My point exactly...the forums are NOT a place to post advertisements! That is why the Installers section was created in the Resource Center to post services for GT users.

And BTW: This is not the first time you have posted inappropriate announcements in the forums...your previous messages were edited by the forum moderator (Mark) and you still persist to post these types of announcements.

I have listened to your opinion and have stated that I will not post inappropriate messages in the forum, so there is NO need, Eliot, to drag on this discussion as YOU are now posting irrelevant messages in this thread. After all this is a Links 2.0 Installation forum is it not, so lets get back to the original purpose of the forum.

I realise that you help a lot of beginners with Links 2.0 and have even helped myself in times of need, but, (and this is not my opinion only, as I have read other threads), you seem to have a patronising attitude with people who are not as confident with Perl and MySQL as you. This does not help matters as people feel belittled and lose their confidence.
