Syntax Error
Ok,

I have read through the hundreds of posts asking seemingly the same question so I uploaded all of the files in ASCII mode once again; several of them gave me "bare line feed" warnings upon transfer in ASCII mode. My path to perl is correct; the same I am using for all of my other working Perl5 scripts. When I access from the browser I get the following errors.

"Error including libraries: syntax error at /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/fashiondig/cgi-bin/links/admin/links.cfg line 177, near "my @months = qw!Jan Fe"
(Might be a runaway multi-line FF string starting on line 136)
syntax error at /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/fashiondig/cgi-bin/links/admin/links.cfg line 149, near ";
}"

Make sure they exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly."

This is line 136
my %months = map { $_ => $i++ } qw!Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec!;

This is line 147-149
if ($@) { die "invalid date format: $date - parsed as (day: $day, month: $months{$mon}, year: $year). Reason: $@"; }
return "$time";
}

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Look at the name of your site. It contains a single quote. Therefore, you're closing the string, and perl gets an error for the remainder (since it doesn't know what "s Fashion On The web" means.

Place double quotes around it, instead of single, and you should be fine.

Due to repeated requests for support via ICQ, I am once again offering support online.

The ONLY number I will accept requests on is #53788453. Messages sent to my other numbers will not pass through to me, as I have security settings set to ignore messages from users not on that list.

I don't know how often I will be active on this number, as it is for only when I am free to offer assistance.

Could this signature be any longer? :)

Mark,

Thanks! It works fine now.

I REALLY did try to figure it out on my own before I posted..it's the old "can't see the forest for the trees" syndrome I think Smile
