I've developed a script [Links Auto-Installer] that will remotely install GT Links 2.0 (non-SQL) on your server via FTP. It's a basic installation - no mods. The installer is run from our server. All directories are created, and all files uploaded to their respective directories. Directories and files are chmod accordingly. Typical full installation should take less than a minute - actual install takes just a few seconds on a fair to good connection.
The installer has been fully tested, and no problems are evident. However, I'm looking for 5 persons to beta-test the installer. If interested, contact me in Private ONLY, and I'll send you the URL of the [Links Auto-Installer]. Notes:
1. There cannot be a pre-existing Links installation. If there is, you will need to install in a new directory (CGI and HTML).
2. You need to fully understand server paths (not to be confused with URLs). You will need to know the paths and URLs of where you wish to install both Links CGI and HTML build directories on your server.
3. No mods included (and none anticipated in the future). However, the nph-build.cgi script has been modified so that the links.db file is maintained 666 (rw-rw-rw-) when you rebuild.
4. Only the FIRST 5 persons are eligible to beta-test - afterwhich, I'll reply to this post that the offer is closed.
