Installation on Spaceports
Welp I just installed the links script on http://mycgiserver.com with no problemos, but their pretty slow, so I decided to give spaceports a try, well ran into a few problems. I've done all the usual error checks such as File permissions and uploading only in ASCII mode, but to no avail, I keep getting directed to the spaceports main page This is part of the links.cfg file: (assuming my username for cgi account is absocgi)
# Paths and URL's to Important Stuff
# --------------------------------------------------------
# PATH and URL of Admin CGI directory. No Trailing Slash.
$db_script_path = "/home/absocgi/public_html/links/cgi-bin/admin";
$db_dir_url = "http://cgi-bin.spaceports.com/~absocgi/links/cgi-bin/admin";

# URL of User CGI directory. No Trailing Slash.
$db_cgi_url = "http://cgi-bin.spaceports.com/~absocgi/links/cgi-bin";

# PATH and URL of Pages to be built. No Trailing Slash.
$build_root_path = "/home/absocgi/public_html/links/pages";
$build_root_url = "http://cgi-bin.spaceports.com/~absocgi/links/pages";

# PATH and URL of What's New page. No Trailing slash.
$build_new_path = "$build_root_path/New";
$build_new_url = "$build_root_url/New";

# PATH and URL of What's Cool page. No Trailing slash.
$build_cool_path = "$build_root_path/Cool";
$build_cool_url = "$build_root_url/Cool";

# PATH and URL of What's Rating page. No Trailing slash.
$build_ratings_path = "$build_root_path/Ratings";
$build_ratings_url = "$build_root_url/Ratings";

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

hi,

there are other link users that use spaceports, I fogot who but somebody is at mir, check the custom forum for that person. they've also posted mods.

anyway, I don't know perl or spacepots but:

http://cgi-bin.spaceports.com/~absocgi where www should be I don't think it should be cgi-bin unless spacepots has a station called that something more like mir sounds reaasonable.

sorry IF I'm tottaly off the wall here Blush just trying to help
