Hi,

I tried to install Links 2.0 several times now, but I always get this error :

Error including libraries: Can't locate /cgi-bin/links/admin/db.pl in @INC (@INC contains: /homepages/45/d32051836/htdocs/cgi-bin/links/admin /usr/lib/perl5/5.00502/i586-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.00502 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i586-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005 .) at /homepages/45/d32051836/htdocs/cgi-bin/links/admin/admin.cgi line 28.

Make sure they exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly.


Well, I checked the perl path, it was not /usr/local/bin/perl but /usr/bin/perl - so I edited the first lines in every cgi to this value.

Then I checked the paths again : I chose
/cgi-bin/links/admin
/cgi-bin/links
/cgi-bin/links/pages
and also the urls for this

Nothing worked...

Checked the CHMOD again like in the deskriptions, but nothing changed.

Any Ideas ?

Yeah, it is looking for the PATH (not virtual path, which is normally what we see in FTP, but the server path). The error gives this to you!

So when I have to set up the config-file, I have to chose

/hompages/......./..../..../cgi-bin/links/
instead of just
/cgi-bin/links ?

Well, now nearly everything works :

When I click on
- Build all
- Staggered
- Staggered (Auto
- Quick Check
- Detailed

I get a error 500. I also tried to edit the site_html.pl, but whatever I wrote in there, nothing happened.

Any suggestions ?

What is a RAQ-Server ?

I am using a webspace provider here in germany who is using unix...

Does anyone has a suggestion why I can edit the site_html.pl like I want but the changes are not shown up ?
For ex. I changed the font of the links for the categories page - but nothing changed, they stay that big...

Maybe its because you are using templates and not site_html.pl

Or maybe as you already said, the build process is giving an error so it won't be building the pages properly.
