How to use Templates
Hi, sorry for this stupid question, but can anyone tell me how to use templates in Links2. I set up everything right, but how do I generate a door webpage that contains categories people need. How do I use the variables specified in template files such as: <%category%>, <%build_root_url%>?
How do I import those from Link2 and output them to my webpages.

Thanks!

If you go to your admin page, and then in the left hand side menu click on Edit Templates link, and then from the pull down box select the page you want to customize, then just click the link at the top of the page for a walk through of all the tags you can use on that specific template...

Hope this helps

Andy

I think the answer you were looking for is that you need to rebuild the directory and then you will find you have a main page with all the categories on as well as all the category pages.

What do you mean by rebuild? Say, if I want to set my main page in: http://www.mydomain.com/mydirectory/index.html.
Do I have to copy all the template files to /mydirectory and change the home.html to index.html, or, can I directly direct visitors to the home.html in the admin/template directory?
Thanks!

Have you actually read the README that comes with Links2? ....I am almost 100% sure that you haven't.

If you don't know how to even rebuild then how are you going to cope with running Links2?

Go into your admin area....I take it you know where that is?......and click Build All.....I am also assuming that you have configured links.cfg?

The pages will be built in the directory you specified in links.cfg
