When sites are submitted through the 'add' page, and I go to validate them, links is assigning them an ID number that is already used by another link.

I have recently changed the directory that "links" is located, and feel that maybe the data file didn't get moved. Can someone tell me all of the locations that "links" gets info on whether a link ID is already in use? And possibly any other solutions that I may have overlooked?

sounds like you uploaded the orginal linksid.txt and categoryid.txt files when you changed locations.

try this --

1) find out what the last ID number is in your database.

2) open linksid.txt and change the number to the the last ID number you found.

i.e. If your last ID number is 300 and the number in linksid.txt is 200, replace 200 with 300, save and upload...

check to see if category IDs do the same.
