I have been wrestling with this for days. Everything else works better than perfect... except when using jump.cgi I am getting ID not found. Was wondering at first if this had anything to do with linksid.text as my earlier tests work fine. Linksid.txt was never present and when I came across a later reference, I added the file.
I have checked and rechecked everything, but url.db has not had a link added to it since. Any clues??

Further to this... Have tried various chods and now reverted to 666 (with the mod to fix after bak files) and still cannot get it to write to url.db when building the pages. So I added the last test url manually and then tried the link from the web page... still cannot find the ID link!! Earlier I also had a prob adding the link to the hits folder.... help!!!
Have tried all permission variations and now back to 666 wit the directory at 777.

That is because you have configured your paths incorrectly in links.cfg

Actually, the error indicates the following (as discussed quite a few times in this forum --> Unable to copy links backup):
1) You have not changed the permissions of your backup folder correctly, which should be chmod 777.
2) You do not have a file called links.db.bak in your data folder, which should be chmod 666.
Regards,
Eliot Lee
