Please can someone help. Everything seems to work but my catagories are showing as numbers and not by their names. What am I doing wrong?

Well, since Links does not, by default, display the ID numbers of the categories, I would guess that you modified something that makes it do that. You need to check your mods against the original Links archive and figure out what went wrong. Or, perhaps, it is showing just the number of links in the category but not the category name.
The most likely place to look would be in sub site_html_print_cat.
