Does this script auto approve each link submission, or is it possible for them to sit in queue until I manually approve each one?

AFAIK, you need to validate links before they can be added to the directory. You obviously also need to do a 'build all' before they will show up on the category pages.

Thanks, I haven't quite delved deeply into the script yet, been spending more time reading the forums here for hints, tips, etc.

If I can approve each link before it's posted, that's perfect for me

Well, I haven't found anywhere when you 'build' that would allow me to approve any submissions whatsoever.

Every link I'm manually added has just shown up after I did a build, and it did not give me any change to approve or reject anything.

Have you tried adding one using the add.cgi via the form, and not the admin? That is where the approval procedure starts. Someone submits a site, you receive an email telling you about it, then you can approve and add, or delete it.

add.cgi needs you to verify the new links (Validate), whilst adding them via 'Add' in admin.cgi will add them automatically.

I guess that means I have something wrong in links.cgi in the sendmail path?

It was wrong initially, had several errors, but I went through the posts here and duplicated what others had when they posted their links.cgf file

I'm thinking that at times, I have to use sendmail -t even though the server report says it's just /usr/sbin/sendmail

# PATH of sendmail. # SMTP Server

$db_mail_path = '$usr/sbin/sendmail';

( Location of Sendmail:

sendmail:
/usr/sbin/sendmail

/usr/lib/sendmail

)

It should be;

$db_mail_path = 'usr/sbin/sendmail';

Note the missing $ (which you had in your existing configuration).

I removed the extra $ and added a resource but an email still did not arrive.

Yes, my email is in there as the administrator, before you ask :)

Any other things I can look for?

0 means no, right? So I need to change those to 1?

Yeah, 1 = Yes, 0 = No... but that is for Users.. not admin. Didn't you say it was the admin that didn't get emails, or the users?

I'm the admin who submitted the link for one of my own sites as a test, so I should have received 2 emails in theory ... and received absolutely none.

I submitted again after changing the 0 to a 1

Validated and received this error
