"Please enable debugging to view"
I have searched using the following terms, but I have not been able to find how to enable debugging or if it is even something that Links will do:

debug enable how internal error

I have also checked the FAQ of Links and DBMan and even the Unofficial FAQ of DBMan. In fact, over at the Unofficial FAQ, there is a little piece of code that is provided to write error messages to a text file, but it didn't work for me.

I know how to check for syntax through Telnet, and there don't seem to be any syntax errors.

I have also uncommented the following line in admin.cgi for debugging, but it still doesn't appear to be enabled because I am not getting any detailed error messages:

In Reply To:
&cgierr("Done");
However, I'm getting the following error while building, and I'm stumped (after searching and experimenting for several days):

DBMan encountered an internal error. Please enable debugging to view.

Here's the output of nph-build.cgi right up to the error message:

How do I enable debugging so that I can view detailed error messages?

Many thanks for your help.

I believe you meant to post this in the DBMAN Installation Forum, DogTags.

Believe it or not, I got this error when I tried to build my Links pages. That's why I posted it here. I figured that it sounded most like an installation issue.

Yeah, I agree, I don't know why I got this error. I even did searches in a bunch of the admin and other files for "DBMan..." but I couldn't find a match.

So, this is the closest I could come up with.

If you think I should still post it over in a DBMan forum, I'd be happy to. I just didn't want to post a duplicate.

Thanks, AnthroRules. Smile

Did you, by any chance, install Links and DBMan in the same directory? It could be posible that you've overwritten a few files.

Happy Coding,
