when .htaccess dont work?
I've tried everything - .htaccess and the links password mods etc. to protect my admin dir.

AND none of them work - SO i've resorted to naming my admin dir. something else .. like "asdlfjkhadue89734" -

my question: how easy is it to hack a dir name ?? -- will this work? how far will it take me??

please tell me everything you know!!

thanks,
Frank

This is not a secure method of protecting your admin.cgi file and the admin files. I would suggest contacting your ISP and ask for explicit instructions on how to set-up .htaccess. If you are on a NT server, .htaccess will NOT work. You need to ask your ISP to protect your directories.
