verify message "request failed unknown scheme"
When I run nph-verify I get the following message:
(this is for detailed; same message with standard with different method at the bottom.)

What does the Request Failed (501) and Unknown Scheme: mean?

Link checking seems to proceed after this, though it times out in the browser before finishing.

Link checking started at: Wed May 17 03:57:17 2000
--------------------------------------------------------
Registering URLs ...
100 200 300 400 500 Checked - Request Failed (501). Message: Unknown Scheme:
600 700 800 900 1000 1000
1100
Done.

Links to check '1100' using GET method. Please be patient...

Thanks.

Probably a problem with Validate.pm or your server's CPU configurations. Contact your hosting company.

Thanks Eliot.

I also am now getting:

Parallel::UserAgent can not handle ''-requests. Request ignored! at ./nph-verify.pl line 169

and then the verify proceeds until it timeouts after about 300 links and 5 minutes...

Also, what's an average speed (say links/minute verified) to expect for the verify? Is it always this slow when working properly?

Thanks.

Average CPU rates are set between 15 and 20 seconds.

You need to ask your hosting company to increase the CPU rate to above 60 seconds -OR- execute your script via telnet...

Please don't ask me how to do this...since I have already posted instructions for doing this in a recent Thread today.
