this is not entirely to do with links but could happen to any site.
i just carried out a title search on google to see what pages they had indexed this month. i found this link

it is my site with an invite to download software to speed up the net and there is also an advert placed at the bottom of the page. i was hoping this page had been dynamicaly generated but if that was the case it shouldent have been spidered by google. legaly can i ask them to stop using this page because i spend a lot of time building the directory and these people are basicaly using my content to advertize their product. the page even contains my meta tags. what do you recomend i do???

ok i have been on their site and read their "apeal to website owners"

and it makes pretty interesting reading.

so my understaning is that their system is placing a string in the url of a website that can be spidered by search engines using the origional sites mata tags and their system also places a banner on each page that the user views. surely there must be some breach of copyright somewhere even if they do not personaly make the pages with the banners. i still dont understand how it gets indexed when they claim they do not have any pages hosted on a server???

I think google does spider dynamic pages as I remember a while ago I had a links directory and it spidered some of the dynamic pages from it.

Interesting, it's definitly cheeky and they seem to be crossing a fine line. It seems a bit bad because from how the adverts aren't in the form of pop ups etc... but are actually put directly on the webmasters page.

Of course you can always do number 4:

'If due to some reason you do not want your site to be viewed through WebWarper, contact us at webwarper@siams.com: we will block viewing your site through WebWarper.'
