I need to do rather complex sorting of my links. Maybe you guys can help out. These are the criteria:

1) Priority (Yes|No) with mod installed overrides everything.
2) Editor Rating (1|2|3|4)
3) isPopular (Yes|No)
4) isFriend (yes|No)
5) isNew (Yes|No)
6) Award Winner (Yes|No)
7) Award Nominee (Yes|No)

I figure that I'd need to change $db_sort_links = 1 into something else, but I don't know what...

OK, I got it working using the forum suggestions now, but I have one problem: sorting works ok for first page, but is completely lost on second, third, ... result pages. More exactly: on static pages results are fine, but on searches they get messed up. Anyone ideas?
