I run links 2.0 and I know it checks referrers, but somehow I think someone is getting around it.

I just received a submission of around 20 links, all pages on same website, etc.. within span of 2 mins.

thing is - there is no referrer on the notification emails.. normally it prints referrer.

I've never seen this happen before.. anyone had this or know what's up?

I could upload about 20 pages, if I had the URL's in a file, and just cut/pasted them in, especially if only the URL and page title were changed. That's about 5-6 seconds an operation.


But, I believe there has been some talk of people who have automated the submission proces to some links databases, and you might have been hit by that.

true - however it's the referrer being blank that's making me wonder..

The program may have the User Agent field and have it left blank. So nothing would show.
