redirect.cgi & .htaccess conflict?

Today i had a situation where i chose a option from my dropdown menu (webcrawler templates), and it asked me for my username/password ..

I know the webcrawler wants redirect.cgi in the admin directory, which is also protected by the .htaccess file.. Was this error just a fluke, or will it keep happening, and is there a solution..?

The solution is to unprotect your redirect.cgi file. Put it into an unprotected directory.
