When I try to rate my links, the 'Unknown tag: title' kept on appearing. What is wrong, please help. Thank you.

Tags and field names are case sensitive.

You need to use <%Title%> if the name of your TITLE field is Title in the rate_success.html template file.

Where actually is the title field located at. Are you talking about <TITLE></TITLE>? Thank you.

links.def -->Is your title field in all lowercase? It does matter because 'Title', 'tItle', 'TITLE', 'tiTLe', etc. are not the same. By default, it is first letter uppercase, like 'Title'. The name of the field must match exactly with the LINKS tag, ie: <%Title%>
Perl does not care what your HTML codes look like nor can it tell you have incorrect HTML syntax (unless for some odd reason you find using CGI.pm to write HTML effective). It can only tell you what is wrong with the script itself, and in this case, it told you it found an undefined variable.

I was told to edit the rate_success template and the links.def file, so which one is it? Also, when you talk about the title field, where exactly is that located in.

Open your rate_success.html file.
Use the Find option to FIND <%title%>.
Change this tag (<%title%>) to <%Title%>.
