nph-build.cgi: stops or "forgets" categories

nph-build.cgi: stops or "forgets" categories
I recently moved my links 2.0 to a new provider.
now I have a problem with nph-build.cgi.
When I choose "build all" the script starts but
stops without an error in the middle of building categories.

Similar problem when I choose "build staggered": the
script stops in the middle of step #2 (see copied text
below)

strangely if i choose "staggered auto" the script
runs through all the steps until step #4
ending with the message "Your site is now up to date".
But when I check the website, several categories
and "more" pages for categories have not been build.

Is this a timeout / process problem or is it a problem
with any of the links database files?
Note: my provider has the following limitations for
cgi-processes:
- max. 6 sec cpu-time
- max. 10 Megabyte memory usage
- max. 12 processes in parallel

Thanks
Matthias

Hello Matthias,
if it is possible, use telnet to build your pages. Wink

There are some perl scripts that permit you to execute server commands in case you have no access to Telnet, such as CGI-Telnet @ http://www.rohitab.com/...ripts/cgitelnet.html, among others.

Uh yeah but you still have to have an TELNET/SSH account to be able to use those scripts.
