First, each category setup has a place for a header and a footer. Does this mean that each category can have a different header and footer or must the same file name be in all header and footer fields? Second, the Yahoo templates don't seem to reference headers and footers at all. How can I add those?

Each category can have its own header and footer files. In the dir. that you define in links.cfg, you can put the header and footer files in there. From what I remember, you put all the html that you want, inluding the page headers before the categries part in the header file, and you place all of the stuff you want after the categories including the HTML footer, in the footer docuemnt. To include these in the pages, you must place the name of the file in the dir that you specified in the header and footer fields when you add a category. Tell me if im confusing you with this.

OK, I finally figured that one out. Now my only concern is the problem referenced here http://www.gossamer-threads.com/...m11/HTML/000363.html . Build Staggered Auto produces this problem and Build All corrects it. That's not a problem when you have only a few links but as your site grows and Build All is not approiate, it could become a problem. I do wish Alex would take time to look at it.

Eh, I've been trying to figure out about the category fields in the admin interface and how to get anything to appear, for a couple of years now. I must be really stupid, or fate really has it in for me or something because they seem to work for everybody else. Just not for me. And when I see something about it and (I think) that I understand what is being said, I go do it and nothing happens. I guess I must be stupid...
