corrupting links.db

can anyone help me please.
i cant figure it out when i run build or staggered build my links.db keeps getting chopped off and the chmod gets set back to 644. i loose links everytime i build.

im being hosted at prohosting.com
I think its the host but they keep saying its imposible.
and i shur would appreciate if anyone knows of a free host that supports cgi-bin.

This has been discussed before...It is not a problem with the server configurations, but executing the script that reads/writes data via the web browser, which changes user permissions and thus file permissions.

Search the forums for build chmod 666

more specific please should i scrap the whole thing and re upload the script from scratch? I didnt see anything helpfull in the search you recommened but thank you. im not getting any build errors. just loosing part of the database. and the chmod is getting changed.

attempt to adjust the search form options? Definitely not,

thats seems to haved fixed the chmod problem thank you. But im still loosing links when i build. I read that turning flock off may help is this true?

flock checks that no previously running processes are writing to the file before proceding. Turning this off would mean the posibility of writing to the file before a previously running process is complete (thus corrupting the file -- lost records, multiple IDs, etc.)
