What is the purpose of site_html.pl if you have the templates to edit. Also, everytime i edit site_html.pl it doesnt show up how I customized it

site_html.pl is only used if you don't use templates, that is, if you set $build_use_templates = 0; in your links.cfg.

No need, but they serve no function, so you could.

Do note, however, that going this path will mean that many of the mods available will not work. Since most of the Links users do use templates, you will also find that getting support in the forum will be rather difficult.

Conclusion: Use templates

Especially since you, geeman6415, do not seem to have CGI/Perl programming experience. Templates are easier to configure for novices. Use them.
