Verify Problem

Has anyone here been able to do a verify on more than about 1200 links?

how do you verify links are okay if you have more than that?? (at least, for me, on Apache / Solaris nph-verify just hangs after 1200 links).

And are there any easy way to delete File Not Found 404 type links which verify produces?

Currently, you have to click each 'bad' link which nph-verify tells you, then a window pops up, which you must check the bad link again, then confirm you want to delete the bad link, then it loads up a page telling you that it has deleted it, then you must close the window.

This is pretty bad if you have a few hundred bad links.

Try using cron to verify your links. There is a tutorial written by Bobsie in the Resource Center under the FAQ section of LINKS2. This will solve your first problem about verifying a large number of links. The problem is that your browser is timing out and unable to verify all the links in your directory.

Cron is a faster and more effective method of running server processes.

About your second problem. Unfortunately, the way that cron works is that it creates a log summary report, which is not interactive, meaning that you cannot delete or modify directly from the log file.

But I think you are more concerned about solving the first problem.
