Some subs showing and some not.

Some subs showing and some not.
Hello,
I searched and searched and maybe this topic HAS been posted "numerous times" but I couldn't find it. I'll apologize in advance.

I've had Links 2.0 running for months and got it up and running and customised without much help. I just read the instructions and posts and figured it out but I'm stumped on this one.

Some of the subcategories are displaying a blank page and when I view the source of the page the html is all there. This is so weird! Go to www.bigthicketdirectory.com and look at City & County / City and then click on a city. You'll get the blank page unless I figure this out myself in the next five minutes. There are a couple of other cats that are doing this too.

This is the first time this has happened. Can someone please help me figure this out?

Also when I click on Quick Check or Detailed I get an error message. It says "website found waiting for reply" and I wait for a long time and then I get the page unavailable message. Hmmmmm... Never did this before. I have no idea what's up.

Thanks in advance,
Douglas

Are you building your site via telnet or via admin? Are you getting any timeouts when running nph_build.cgi etc..?

No time outs. It just builds as smooth as glass most of the time. Not even a pause of any consequence.

Just had a quick look very strange.

I noticed the following:

On the page which doesn't show, there's no end tag for title "</title>"

I'll check that out. Thanks. I wonder why that one's missing and other pages build with all of the tags. Maybe the server needs an exorsism.

Ahh think I've spotted something. I'm guessing but I think in your category.html template you've got your title tag inbetween an if statement like:

<%if meta_description%>
</title>
<%meta_description%>
<%endif%>

So it would mean all the categories with a meta description would have the </title> printed where as all the ones without the meta description wouldn't have the end title tag printed...

Wow! Sometimes it's the dumbest little things that slow you down. It's a-ok now. Check out www.bigthicketdirectory.com and join our forum if you like any of the topics. Come on down for your vacation in the Big Thicket. We're giving away a trip for 4 starting soon in a drawing.

Thanks very much,
Douglas

Is there any real need to spam the forum with crappy adverts after you have just received free help?
