We are installing links, but my partner is very security aware.

First, we are using a server with a cgi-wrap, which may be more secure but is cause a great deal of pain. Has
anybody installed it with the wrapper?

Second and perhaps more importantly, how secure is links? WHile a directory is not usually he target of massive
hack attempt, how secure it it?

How many of you have had security problems?

Should we just install it on a non-wrapped serve and go on like that or should be be concerned?

Hi,

I always pay quite a lot of attention to security. Links is pretty secure from outside attack providing you do password protect your admin directory with a relatively hard to guess username/password.

From attacks within, you are always better off if you can run your scripts under cgiwrap as then you can keep permissions to a bare minimum (never need 666 or 777). Links should work just fine under cgiwrap. If you are having a problem, let me know.

I would feel totally comfortable running Links on a non cgiwrap server (in fact my demo, and my sites in action do just that).
