Has anyone run into this problem?

- Targeted directory
- For example: 75% listing of BOAT varieties
- If BOAT is allowed in keyword search, the server will be burdened + searches are really fruitless (all is nothing)
- If BOAT is disallowed in keyword search, users might get a little frustrated.

How shall I manage this problem? How about briefly explaining the (reasonable) issue and training users how to search with keywords?

There are some codes in the Modification Forum that can redirect users from one boolean option to another (like and to or, OR or to and) in the result pages. This may be a possible solution.

Also, adding a search tips that explains the common blocked search terms would be beneficial to your users. You could link it on every page next to the search box, and also list a few of the search tips on the search_error.html page.
