Running nph-verify through a proxy server
Hi

I'm trying to get the link verification module to work. Links is installed on an intranet server that uses a proxy to get to the outside world.

When I run verify from inside the admin module I get
Request Failed. Message: IO::Socket::INET: Bad hostname
as a message for all my external links.

More than likely, verify.cgi needs to know where to find the proxy before it can look for these links.

I haven't found anything relevant in the forums on this. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks in advance.

:-D

I'm not exactly sure what a proxy trully does besides allow for blocking sites, and cacheing pages, but couldn't you just install the above files directly in your directory and then change the requires or includes to call the modules directly. I did this a while back for LWP since my dial ISP and host at the time wouldn't install the needed modules ... I went around the server by using my directory and I think the mod was for verify links (or was it look up URLs) something or another.

It's an idea, but then again I have no real clue either.

Good Luck
