Links in Japanese?

Links in Japanese?
I know that there are a couple of Chinese web sites using Links 2.0. I am just wondering if anyone has implemented Links on a Japanese-language site? I am particularily curious about how Chinese/Japanese links are sorted "alphabetically" within categories. Is there anyone who is willing to share her/his experiences?

I know that others have mentioned difficulty in sorting foreign characters appropriately. I believe Russian and Turkish were two other languages where accented characters cause problems, in addition to the Chinese Big 5 characters.

One suggestion is playing around with the sub build_sorthit routine in the db_utils.pl file to sort links according to special characters...and also play around with the sub build_category_pages.

While the Non-English Mod does a decent job of allowing users to print out non-english category names, it really does not do a great job with intuitively sorting the category names in a meaningful manner.

Thanks a lot for your reply, Eliot!

Turkish and Cyrillic are more or less based on the Latin alphabet, thus sorting is also alphanumerical. Perhaps I am missing something, but Chinese and Japanese are based on completely different alphabetical orders, so I am wondering how links are sorted. Any hints are appreciated.
