Links database is 0 bytes!

Links database is 0 bytes!
I've manged to solve a problem that has driven me nuts for many hours. Links 2.0 was installed successfully and the whole thing ran smoothly until suddenly I get the following during a build

CGI ERROR
==========================================
Error Message : Error building! Links database is 0 bytes!
Script Location : /www/htdocs/arndt/links/admin/nph-build.cgi

It turned out that I had reached my quota of space on my server. I've seen other messages in the past looking for help on the same error - could this be the answer for you?

Just trying to be helpful.

Pete.

That error is caused by you not adding any links/categories after installation before you try to build.

It may well be but I had already added 118 categories and 36 links before it happened.

Your database has to be empty for it to occur.

OK - I added a link from the administrator panel just before the problem occured. Does this write a new version of the database before deleting the old version. If so, the new version would have nothing in it because of lack of space. The build would then detect 0 bytes.

Sorry, I'm not an expert on CGI but the increase in quota and subsequent restoration of backup database cured the problem and it hasn't returned.

Not that I know of...I think it appends.
