Problems with Links v2 / Cobalt / Netscape ... PLS HELP!
Hi!

I read all the FAQ's and searched through
the BBS but did not found the solution for
my problem.

when i go to admin.cgi, everything works
fine. but the problems starts when i want
to add a link. I get that DBMAN window,
enter all values ... and guess what's
happening when i press submit ?
the whole admin panel loads again in frame.

the same problem is with user- /add.cgi
it simply sends again the same page, but does
not send me an error or even add the
data into the validate.db ...

... it's all very strange, because in IE5
it's working all fine.
i'm using Netscape 7.2 (the newest version)
also it's not that localhost-image thing ...
i corrected that too ... so any suggestions
what the hell is going on ?

The Server is running : Cobalt RAQ-2 or something like that.
I set up the nph file just as i found it in
the FAQ ... so i do not need help with that Smile

an other strange thing ... I tried out some other
servers that use the same script, and it works just
fine with my netscape ... hehe ... so i guess it's very
dependend on that cobalt server.

Yes...it is...And not many people have had success using LINKS with Cobalt servers.

Since you have tried the FAQs in the Resource Center, I would suggest contacting your Hosting Company for assistance.

well i already contact them and had a
talk with them ... no luck, they are not
that good in cgi ...

well ... it's not a big problem ...
it's just a bit f***** that it's not
compatible with netscape ...
so if someone wants to rate or add/modify
a resource he is only able to do so in
ie5 ...
but some other strange thing ...
search works just like normal in netscape
and in ie5...

i guess there is a problem passing the
variables. maybe i have to rewrite the
parse_form (or use one of wmart)

Please watch your language. We do not deserve this abuse. We are trying to help you. The other suggestion I have is to try to build your directory via telnet if you have access to account via telnet.

he man, you are great.
i just had a great idea...

see the problem is ... everytime i do
a FORM POST with netscape ...
like at add.cgi or modify.cgi ... etc ...
it only returns the same form ...
and only the search.cgi is working ...
so what's different ?
the <form routine in html for search.cgi
is using GET ...

i changed the template of add.cgi to :

<form action="<%db_cgi_url%>/add.cgi" method="GET">

instead of :

<form action="<%db_cgi_url%>/add.cgi" method="POST">

hehe Smile and now it's running GREAT on this
cobalt server Smile

thanx for your help, anywayz Smile
