Margin problem
Hi there,
As my username suggests, I'm very new at this. I think the best way to illustrate my margin problem is to show it to you.
This is what my page margin/spaciong should look like: http://www.montrealonline.com

This is what it looks like:
http://www.montrealgazette.com/links/pages/

See how there is extra space left of the banner ad and header graphic that says Virtual Mall? I've tried to get rid of this space a number of different ways but have had no success.

Does this class=margin have anything to do with it? Where would I modify that?

I would really appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Thanks

Yes...the .css codes (and using the CSS) file is causing this...Simply solution to make LINKS look consistent with your other web pages...dump the CSS file and all references to it and also edit your template files and dump all the css codes.

Is there an almost-as-easy alternative? My Web page was working with style sheets before so I took the contents of the old CSS and pasted them into the links one. I tried to remove all redundant styles.

So now I'm afraid that removing all the classes and doing the formatting from scratch in all the templates will take a really long time and cause all sorts of other mistakes. Can't I just modify this margin class (wherever it is) which is the only one giving me grief?

Thank you

Hi newatthis, it looks like you've been able to resolve the problem. I didn't see a noticeable spacing difference in the banners for the two URL's you provided.

Since it doesn't appear you have a .margin defined in your stylesheet, I am guessing you have removed the class=margin from the templates.

Please post your fix or if still having a problem post URL's where the problem can be seen. Thanks!

Hi there,
Actually I haven't fixed the problem. If you compare the two pages I mentioned, they're not perfectly aligned. The Home Page graphic is a few pixels further to the right than the Virtual Mall graphic.
I know this doesn't seem very important, but we pride ourselves on the tightness of our design. I don't know where the margin class is, in case I want to modify it. Could you tell me?
Thank you very much

The margin class for tables is in the .css file!
