Links.db rights change when nph-build.cgi runs
I am the owner on all of the files (no longer 'nobody' which was a problem) and I changed the rights on links.db to 777 so that I can still run the modifications, adds, validates, etc. from the web browser (without CGI Wrap). When I run nph-build.cgi from my Telnet connection (Free BSD/Apache server, pair.com) it's changing the rights on links.db to -rw-r--r--. Is there a way in the script to stop it from changing these rights, or maybe flagging the rights to 777 after it's completed?

Thanks,
Roger

Hi everyone,

I just discovered I have the same problem after I moved to a new HostPro Freedom 500x server. Our entries were disappearing when validating and I discovered the permissions were being changed when the build script runs.

I've changed the owner to the administrative username on all files related to Links 2.0.

Permissions are reset to 644 after each run of the build script.

I did a search on this forum and found the fix. Here's the link...

Read through this and follow the instructions for updating the nph-build.cgi file, it worked for me.

Yup, worked for me too I think. Thanks for doing the grunt work!

Clear skies,
Roger
