I know this was really dumb, but I migrated from manually building my site to Links 2.0 without rechecking my host's (Hypermart) Terms of Service. Now I have checked (I was just about to upgrade to ad. free hosting), it turns out that these expressly forbid any scripts which automatically update a links directory.

I have been very impressed with Hypermart (unlike some others I have briefly tried) and am fearful of leaving them, which is why I am asking the forum for recommendations. Specific requirements are as follows:

outside UK (otherwise I could have used one of my ISP's)
say 20Mb disk
say a few thousand hits per day (hopefully)(low graphics)
TLD transfer OK
Telnet access to cgi-bin (ideally)
$100 or so per year

I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find any recent comments.

He appears to be an employee of them, from some of him posts on other sites telling people to use csoft.net as their host with no real reason, sort of blatent advertising.

A search on my search engine http://www.spotway.com turned up a url of interest. http://www.spotway.com/cgi-bin/fd/apexec.cgi?search=CubeSoft+Communications&B1=Search&etype=web was the search i performed.

I found Avoid CubeSoft Communications http://www.n0de.org/csoft.html at the top. Check it out, tells the truth of them.

I've been with Forsite (http://www.forsite.net) for about a year and a half, and I have my directories built daily - and running WWWThreads (http://www.wwwthreads.com) with a few cron jobs as well. I have always experienced knowledgeable and responsive service with them - and yes, I have tried several others before, and for other websites also during my time with them, so I can really recommend them (and I am really just a customer )!

that is mighty funny. no i do not work for csoft. i just have had great service with them. For what i pay, it feels like i have a dedicated server. i only pay 25 bucks a month and i have over 12 domains with them. almost all of them don't get a lot of hits at all and are just information pages. but anyways, i have just been real happy with them. no big deal anyways...
